Lifedrawing

I've been slacking

with my blogging recently. I realised I have SO much stuff i haven't blogged and i don't really know why, laziness mainly. But I've stepped it up, brought everything out of the studio and taken pictures of it all so prepare to be bombarded :)

Elsa Mora

My favourite artist at the moment. I discovered this cuban artist whilst browsing through Tumblr. I am so stunned by her creations, they are so intricate and her attention to detail is 'increible'. Check out her miniature books..

Liar Liar

Crappy mobile photos. We were given the theme 'LIES' to work with and i chose to work on one of Aesop's fables - The Boy Who Cried wolf. After a number of re-designs and development i came up with this idea. I wanted to make sure everything about the design was relevant to the story. So i made the tear drop shape out of a wolf and sheep head (hopefully you can work it out), attached to an already-fallen tear drop to give the image more depth. The story was taken place on a hill, at sunset. So i used contour lines and a isle-like pattern to my print, experimenting with various colours seen at sunset. These are double layered lino prints - which was an absolute bitch chiselling out and sliced my fingers 3 times in the process, but it was worth it. I still have a lot more printing i'd like to do until i get it how i want it as i don't believe its quite there yet. But for a start, i'm pleased with the results, and learnt a new process on the way!

Hair Zine

For a 3 day project we've been working in groups on a Zine about hair. I've never made one before so its been fun learning about layout and how different images work against eachother. Here are my three illustrations for the book. We decided to do it on hair myths. As you can see the top two don't have text on them but they are yet to be added. work in progress!

I wanna forgive you, and i wanna forget you

I have a bit of an obsession with the lovely Lauren Conrad. This is a starting point, i want to do something pretty with it, just not sure what yet. Work in progress, i just needed to get drawing again..

Collage project with Nick White

Had the first day of our 2 day collage project with Nick White today. We had to bring in various items such as LPs, videos, paperbacks, all with interesting imagery, to recreate. At first i found it quite hard to get into, but once i got into it i really enjoyed it. The top image is my version of the sound of music made into a video cassette cover. The image underneath is my version of the video 'Whisky Galore', but in LP format. Nick was a really funny guy with some impressive pieces. Also never knew he went to Kingston uni, i love it when we meet successful artists from our own kind aha.

Sweet Tooth

Took a trip to camden yesterday with my mum as she came to visit me at uni. Beautiful place, don't think anyone could ever get bored there. Here is a little doodle i did of one of the sweet stalls, photographed and messed around with in photoshop.

Front cover - attempt 2

i like this one tonnes more

Front Cover - really not sure

I wanted to keep it fairly simple, because i don't want the reader to get confused or overwhelmed when they see the front cover, or give too much away. I want to keep that sense of mystery. But i don't know if this is TOO simple. hmm..

Courtroom/Jail
